Torna also known as prachanda(huge) gad is a massive fort near pune, india. In 1646, when Shivaji was 16, launched his first military attack by capturing Torna fort, paving the way for the great empire. Many battles have been fought on torna. Rajgad is another massive fort near Torna.
The fort is truly grand and stretches for couple of kilometers. The beautiful lush greenery like a carpet of grass can be observed in sahyadris only during july - oct period.
Also we were lucky to spot a rare circular rainbow in the valley.
Seeing a family of 2 elderly women (1 was dressed in a saree!) trek torna fort was a nice sight should be an inspiration for anyone with passion and that trekking is an adventure for all ages and fitness levels.
