Known for its greenery, flora fauna and wildlife it is known as lungs of mumbai which to an extent provides mumbai with essential clean air.The park is in middle of mumbai suburbs and hence it is easy to travel and spend some good peaceful time with nature. In rainy season it becomes a picnic place as people come to escape the heat and have fun in natural streams and water. Various birds, animals including panthers, reptiles and lots of species of plants beautify this place. This is also an excellent place to hike and trek and rock climbing for beginers. The artistic Kanheri Caves also lie in heart of this national park. |
