Lakshadweep Islands: Pictures & ImagesLakshaDweep (laksha:one hundred thousand, dweep: island) is an archipelago (Cluster of islands) 200 to 400 Kms from the coast of Kerala, India. It is Union Territory of India with a population of around 60,000 spread over a dozen islands/atolls. The formation of these islands is quite interesting as depicted here. Due to shallow and still waters (Lagoons) around lakshadweep islands the flora and fauna is rich and diverse, offering breathtaking colors and landscapes and beautiful underwater world including corals. The Tip beach on kalpeni islands was absolutely unique and heavenly where one could see green ocean on one side, blue ocean on the other side with a white sand beach in the center connected to an island. The beautiful Photographs do not justify what the eye can see there. There are 3 ways to reach lakshadweep for Indian citizens (For others there is only airway)
