The pic on this page is from Konkan region, the evergreen, palm tree lined coastal strip in western India, running from north to south of Maharashtra state. Characterized by Greenery, White sand beaches, Palm trees, Paddy fields, religious places and sparse population make this strip an ideal laid back vacation and long drives. Konkan railway connectivity and good road transport is increasing the underrated tourism value of konkan. Various sea forts lie in this strip
