Ganesha Visarjan 2006

This section has pictures taken at Mumbai Ganesha Visarjan, India on last day of Ganpati/Ganesh festival, which is one of the biggest public festivals of hindu religion.

Ganesha is the hindu god. in 1893 Freedom Figher Bal Gangadhar Tilak started this festival to unite people, to free india from british rule. Today it is celebrated in Public places, apartments, homes, schools, trains !! It is celebrated for 10 days (sometimes 11). On last day of the festival, people gather nears seas or rivers to immerse the idols. Ganpati festival 2007 starts on 15th September.
