The pic on this page is a visit to chandigarh and amritsar which are the north indian state of Punjab. Amritsar is know for: Jallianwala Bagh: Most historic and patriotic places in india where in 1919, British army soldiers opened fire on an unarmed and peaceful gathering of men, women and children, a painful chapter in india quest of independence. Golden Temple: (Official name: Harmandir Sahib): grand and fabulous complex of the golden temple, build completely of gold, surrounded by a huge lake. Its the most sacred shrine in Sikh religion.
