This page has information of the Olympus digital cameras that i have used for my photography (My photography gallery) and softwares and other accessories i use:
My first Olympus digicam in India was an Olympus D 460 which i got from US as availability of Olympus digital cameras in India was less in 2001. This was a casual buy, but increased my interest in digital photography.
Right from start i have been impressed by Olympus digital camera technology compared to popular Nikon and Canon for the following reasons:
1. Always ahead and innovative in technology front. First to introduce Long Optical Zoom like 10X and 18X, Inbuilt Panorama, Live View DSLR
2. Best functionality for money. Olympus gave the best and most functionality for the same priced cams from other brands.
3. Image quality on par with Nikons and Canons.
My third and latest digi cam I got in 2007 is the innovative Olympus E-330, the first DSLR with Live View and Swivel LCD technology. I also use the 18 180 mm Olympus Zuiko lens which serves as a great travel lens
My second Olympus digicam i got in 2003 was the 10X ultra zoom Olympus C 740. One heck of a cam. Have shot around 25, 000 pictures with this workhorse and still use it for casual photography.
Before buying a camera i do a lot of research on dpreview.com forums and camera reviews from imaging-resource.com
A good place to know about digital cameras in India (Mumbai) is JJMehta
Due to time constraints I don’t enhance(photoshop) pictures. I do minor tweaking like cropping and contrast enhancement using irfanview and DCEnhance.
The image galleries on this site are made from Arles Image web page creator software which helps me in complete automation of Resizing, optimizing, thumbnailing and html generation.
Currently most cameras use proprietary batteries. In case you still use the AA or AAA (pencil cells) then check this Excellent comparison of batteries. ... »
